Senate Confirms Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary

Members of the upper chamber of Congress continue through the confirmation process of the president’s Cabinet.

The Senate confirmed Scott Bessent as the new Secretary of the Treasury on Monday.

Bessent is an investor and hedge fund manager who participated in President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign. The Senate voted to approve Bessent’s nomination, and the president’s party preparing to implement his agenda, which includes extending the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

“He brings a wealth of private sector experience in the economy and markets to his new role, as well as the concern for the needs of working Americans,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune said in his floor remarks, calling Bessent an “example of the American dream in action.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
